Grandma & Grandpa (both sets!) came to visit

We had the privilege of having 2 sets of grandparents visit us in about a 2 1/2 week span.. First Mike's parents flew out to see us for a few days... the kids took advantage of them and had them read book after book after book....

Grandpa looks a little tired of reading...

We took a trip into Boston and visited some historic areas in the North End...
Playing down by the wharf
A pretty park in Boston

What's a trip to New Hampshire without a drive over to the "moose store"
...and a lunch at Bob's
The morning after they left, David came into my room (very early) and said "grandma & grandpa' aren't here". I told him that they had left early in the morning, daddy had taken them to the airport. He said, "no, the other grandma & grandpa!" I had told him that grandma & grandpa Hlinka were coming after grandma & grandpa Nebraska had left... he took me quite literally.

So he waited....

In the meantime, we went apple picking...

the trees were 'full' of apples... it was quite beautiful!
...and we made some apple pies...
with lots of great help!
Finally, the day arrived... set number 2 were here... and more reading...
They brought David a rocking chair for his birthday... (from one of their favourite restaurants... any guesses???)
Grandpa read lots of stories, told some of his stories, and drew some of his pictures...
...and another trip to Bob's for some chowder

October Madness

As my sister-in-law put it, I'd better get some new pictures up on here before she doesn't recognize the kids anymore... so here we have a miss-match of whats been happening over the past few weeks...

That's my life in a nutshell...
David asked daddy to take his training wheels off one day.... Mike took them off and he rode his bike right out of the garage and hasn't looked back!
Kate continues to eat
more photos from the peanut gallery

goofing off
Heading out to the bus to say goodbye to Bella

We took our annual trip to the Deerfield Fair... it was very fun! There was lots of fried food, face painting, petting the animals and rides!

I couldn't get her off!
Face painting...
going for a cruise...
oh, they were so soft!!
please... can we just get one?
Daddy was a good sport too...
We had the workers come for a visit for a couple of days...
cuddles...
I made an Indian supper, and Kate helped me with the Naan... it was very very sticky.
...but fun!
Daddy is making a tree house for the kids out back... the kids are helping too.
This was Bella on picture day... wonder what her hair looked like by the time the picture was taken... we'll see!!
We dug up the front yard (because we like dirt and sand so much) to put in some drainage tile.
David was quite happy
Kate sat on the steps to supervise.
