Our Busy Week

We have had a busy week with my friend Janice (no, not my sister) - she's here for one more day. We can't go shopping again or she has to buy another suitcase! She's spent alot of time just playing with the kids, so it's been a vacation for me too! Mike flew 4 days this week, so we've missed him around here. (I know he'll get harrassed by his brothers now...) We met with Dave-the-builder this week, and again tomorrow - the house is 'officially' started!!! Whoo-weee!!

Let's see, Kate is walking, and will turn 1 on Wednesday. She's a little climber now too. Here are some of this weeks poses...

Surprise Wedding!

I just received an email from my friend/maid-of-honor Rachel today, telling us that she and Bruce got married yesterday!! Their parents and a couple of friends celebrated with them. They got married on the Island (Vancouver Island).

Jackie & Graham's Wedding

Jackie & Graham had a gorgeous day for their beautiful wedding on Saturday. We all had a fun long weekend. Barb & Dave invited us to stay on the grounds, so we were able to stay there with Lee & Paula, Ken & Beth and Carl & Sue. We had a bon-fire on Friday night and the guys set off some fireworks. Saturday was the wedding of course, and on Sunday Cathy had the two families stay for lunch after mtg. - about 60 people. Graham & Jackie are off to Bermuda now... here are a few photos (mostly of our kids). I have created a blog for Jackie & Graham, so you can see more wedding photos at http://www.jackiegrahamlong.blogspot.com/. We drove home yesterday, but with an extra passenger. Janice Richards has come back with us for the week.

Bella couldn't get enough of the wedding stuff...

Happy 4th of July

We spent the day today at Strawberry Banke in Portsmouth. It's a historic area preserved with the original homes and buildings dating back to the 1700's. The kids had fun making crafts, listening to a band, checking out the horses, and blowing bubbles! We were going to see the fireworks tonight in Durham, but the rain has cancelled them. We are actually watching fireworks out our back window from somebody in the neighbourhood right now.... the rain didn't shut everybody down.
Finally got David's battery charged on his little 4-wheeler - he really had fun on it, but wished it went a little faster. Little sis had to try on the helmet for size...

2 Year Old Language

David's little words just make me laugh alot. This morning it was "mommy, are we going to the store today or tomorrow-day?"

Yesterday we went to the lot to do a little work. We thought it would be 'fun' to build a stone wall between out place and our new neighbours. We hauled and lugged around rocks until we couldn't move, and tried our best at building a wall. I guess it's a bit of an art, but we'll get there... The kids had fun digging in the dirt, making trails, and climbing trees. Kate sampled the soil... it wasn't that great. The boy next door - David - came over to play with the kids as well. He's a nice little boy. After a morning playing in the dirt, the kids came out of the bath looking pretty clean and white again! It felt so good to be working a little bit over there...

We are meeting 'Dave the builder' on Thursday again once the rough excavating is done and we'll see where the hole will go. Then we are heading to Ontario for Jackie & Graham's wedding on Saturday!!! ...or as David says "Jackie and Greem" ...we are all pretty excited!!
